Annie Turner, ‘Mussels’, are ceramic sculptures of large-sized mussels with delicate feathery patterns engraved into the inside shells.
The Mussel Shells can be displayed singly, or grouped, as it were, in a bed. Each one varies from the next, complementing each other with different version of patterns and shades of grey and cream.
Annie’s work is versatile, intense, yet it can be delicate. She makes sculptures, normally in clay through a variety of forms. Themes for her art are often watery. She is inspired by dams, sluices, nets and her local landscape of the River Deben, Suffolk.
